Vi Rolls Out 5G Across All 14 Kerala Districts, Plans Start at Rs 299

Vodafone Idea has widened its 5G coverage across Kerala, stating that all 14 districts in the state now fall under its network. Kerala customers can access these services on plans that start at Rs 299 as part of an introductory offer.

The 5G service reaches several important towns and hubs, including Alappuzha, Kannur, Kalamassery, Kasaragod, Kalpetta, Kochi, Kollam and Kottayam. Coverage also spans Kozhikode, Manjeri–Malappuram, Palakkad, Pathanamthitta, Tirur, Thrissur, Thodupuzha, Thiruvananthapuram and Wayanad, targeting both urban and semi-urban pockets.

The wider rollout follows earlier Vodafone Idea 5G launches in Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode and Malappuram. Under the current Kerala introductory scheme, plan prices begin at Rs 299, and the company positions these tariffs as the most affordable 5G options available to users in the state.

Vodafone Idea states that the present footprint is only the starting phase for Kerala. The telecom operator plans to keep expanding and strengthening its 5G network across more areas of the state over the coming months, adding further capacity where required.

In a similar move, Vi has recently rolled out handset loss and theft insurance for prepaid users in India, bundled with select recharge plans. The coverage applies to both Android and iOS smartphones and focuses specifically on loss and theft, rather than accidental damage alone. The insurance offers coverage of up to Rs 25,000 and is directly linked to eligible recharge packs, eliminating the need to purchase a separate policy.
