While the smartwatches are the new rage in the wearable market, Intex has come up with a new smartwatch for the kids called Irist Junior. Along with this, the company also announced the Irist Pro that is the successor of the yesteryear smartwatch.
The Irist Junior smartwatch is priced at Rs 3,999 and it is claimed to be the first Internet of Things based wearable device that is to be launched by an Indian brand. This device will be very useful for the parents to track their kids when they are away at work.

Intex Irist Junior is water and dust resistant
The smartwatch that is aimed at kids is IP65 certified. This means that the device is a rugged one that will be water and dust resistant making it an ideal choice for parents.
Irist Junior smartwatch uses a MediaTek SoC
Intex has made use of a MediaTek MT6261 chipset in this device. It has GPS connectivity and a 0.96-inch TFT screen as well. Also, there is a single 2G SIM card slot.
Battery life lasts for a day
There is a 580 mAh battery in the Intex Irist Junior smartwatch that can render a battery backup of one day with GPS. It comes with a connector to dock at the back of the watch to charge it.
SOS button on Intex Irist Junior is useful
The Intex smartwatch has a dedicated SOS button that will help in sending emergency SOS messages to a maximum of 60 contacts that are saved in the device. These messages will be sent by long pressing the SOS button.
Smartwatch has 4 buttons making it easy-to-use
This smartwatch has four buttons on it. One is the dedicated SOS button that will send emergency messages. There is a power on/off button and a menu button on one side of the device.

The menu button will display the contacts that are saved and the voice messages or chats made with the contacts. The other button will show 10 frequently contacted contacts.
Looks good and comfortable to use
The smartwatch comes in four color options that will attract kids. It has a rubbery finish and it is comfortable to wear. The straps and textured and the overall device looks good.
Compatible with Android and iOS devices
The Intex smartwatch is compatible with the devices that run on Android 4.4 and above and iOS 7.0 and above.
