Apple Launches Health Data Privacy Campaign Across the Globe, Including India
Apple has released a new campaign that focuses on the company's commitment to privacy. The iPhone maker touts its privacy features, stating that health data included in the Health app and Healthkit framework is secured with end-to-end encryption.

Apple has also published a new Health Privacy Overview whitepaper which explains how the firm focuses on four tenets of privacy-data minimization, on-device processing, transparency and control, and security.

"Health data, stored in HealthKit, is encrypted on-device and is only accessible with your passcode, Touch ID or Face ID," Apple explains. Health app data synced to iCloud will not be accessible by Apple if two-factor authentication is enabled.
Apple also talks about app privacy, "Apps can't see any Health app data, or add any data to the Health app, without your permission. Before accessing any data, apps have to prompt you to access Health app information."
Even for third-party apps on Apple's operating system, Apple claims that users have full control over what Health app data can be used by a third-party app. Before such apps request access to health data, they will need to meet the requirements in the App Store Review Guidelines and the Developer Program License Agreement.
The metrics for the Health app are generated by the sensors on the iPhone and Apple Watch on-device. All the data is processed locally, ensuring that Apple won't be able to touch it. The firm also states that the end user gets granular control over the health data.
Apple's New Privacy Ad Campaign
Apple will be rolling out the campaign across the globe, including India. The company will release the campaign on social media, television, and billboards in twenty-four time zones.
Apple's latest ad, narrated by comedian Jane Lynch, is set in a hospital's waiting room, envisioning a world where everyone in the room knows the reason behind your visit to the doctor.
"Worried your most personal data might get into the wrong hands? The Health app on iPhone helps you control who sees your health data-and who doesn't. Because when it comes to your health, privacy matters," the ad states.
