There are many stories where Apple Watch has become the life saviour of people. Earlier we have reported that how a woman with good health was facing issues with the increased heart rate. Thanks to Apple wearable, it has notified her when the heart rate was beating higher than the usual. Later its found that she had untreated hyperthyroidism.
But this latest story is about an 18-year old girl, named Deanna Recktenwald, a Florida teen who was in The Crossing Church on a Sunday morning in Brandon Florida. Suddenly she received a notification on her Apple Watch, warning her that her resting heart rate is high as 190bpm which is not normal.
The notification suggested the girl take immediate medical help. Deanna's mother who is a registered nurse was shocked with the accuracy of Apple Watch and rushed her daughter to a walk-in clinic where a doctor has confirmed about the high heart rate.
"I didn't know what was going on at all and it was just out of the blue," she told WFTS.
"It was alarming that the watch was telling us to seek medical attention," her mother, Stacey, added. "I didn't even know that it had the capability of giving us that alert."
After getting confirmed, Deanna was immediately rushed from the clinic to the ER where she was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. According to doctors both of her kidneys were found to be functioning at 20 percent and indicating a transplant which is needed in the coming future.
Deanna's mother said that her daughter is saved by Apple Watch. She has also written a letter to Apple to let the company know how their device has saved a life. Apple CEO, Tim Cook has responded to her letter with an email and posted it on twitter.
"If it wasn't for (my daughter's) Apple Watch alarming her about her heart rate, we wouldn't have discovered her kidney issue. I honestly feel that your Apple Watch saved my daughter's life"-Stacey Recktenwald in a letter she wrote to Apple
Apple watch has done its job very well and saved a life. Other should learn from her experience and do not ignore health warnings, it's better to always do cross check when it comes to health. As we all know life is once and precious.
