JioDive Smartphone-Based VR Headset Launched in India for ₹1,299

Reliance Jio has announced a smartphone-based Virtual Reality (VR) headset, right on time for IPL 2023. The device, which is reminiscent of Google's Cardboard headset, is said to offer a 360° immersive view on a 100-inch virtual screen.

The new JioDive headset is compatible with both Android and iOS, but do note that you will need a Jio number to access the VR features. Here are the full specs of the JioDive VR device:

JioDive Features

The JioDive headset promises a "stadium-like experience" thanks to its immersive 360° view. The device features a three-way adjustable strap and breathable cushions for comfort. It is also fitted with lenses that can be tweaked to produce a sharper image.

Additionally, the JioDive headset includes a click button for navigation. The central wheel can be adjusted to get rid of double images.

While the headset is compatible with both Android and iOS, there are a few more requirements to be met before using the device. For starters, the JioDive can be used with smartphones featuring display sizes between 4.7 and 6.7 inches.

Additionally, the smartphone should run Android 9 and newer or iOS 15 and newer. You will also need a Jio number or JioFiber connection to access VR content via the JioImmerse app.

How to Use the JioDive Headset

To get started with the JioDive headset, you'll have to first scan the QR code on the box and install the JioImmerse app on your phone. Sign in to the app, tap the JioDive option, and select "Watch on JioDive."

Open up the front cover of the headset and place your smartphone in the space between the
lenses and the phone support clip. Make sure that the phone is in place and close the front cover.

You can now wear the JioDive headset and adjust the straps for a snug fit. You can tweak the center and side wheels for a better viewing experience.
