After a slew of leaks and speculations, Xiaomi has taken the wraps off its first Mi smartwatch at an event in China. As rumored, this wearable comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 chipset and runs Wear OS topped with MIUI for Watch.

The Xiaomi Mi Watch arrives with a 1.78-inch AMOLED touch screen display with support for more than 100 watch faces. The smartwatch comes is preloaded with more than 40 apps and supports eSIM for 4G VoLTE calling from leading Chinese operators.

 

Xiaomi Mi Watch Specifications And Features

Xiaomi Mi Watch heavily resembles the Apple Watch as seen in leaks and speculations. It bestows a 1.78-inch square touch screen display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection in the standard edition and sapphire crystal in the premium edition.

Under its hood, the smartwatch from Xiaomi is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 SoC along with 1GB RAM and 8GB eMMC. A 570mAh battery fuels the Mi Watch and is touted to deliver up to 36 hours of battery life while using it on 4G.

On the software front, the Xiaomi Mi Watch runs Wear OS-based MIUI for Watch and it supports both Android and iOS devices. The smartwatch comes with activity tracking, sports tracking, and sleep tracking features. There are necessary sensors including an ambient light sensor, barometer, heart rate sensor, geomagnetic sensor, and accelerometer.

The other goodies on board the Xiaomi Mi Watch include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, NFC, GPS, and a swim-proof build. The device gets the power from a 570mAh battery and is touted to give up to 36 hours of battery life.

Xiaomi Mi Watch Price And Availability

Xiaomi Mi Watch has been launched in two color options as teased earlier - Elegant Black and Silver. The standard variant featuring a rubber band is priced at 1299 yuan (approx. Rs. 13,100) and will go on sale in the country from November 11.

On the other hand, the Mi Watch Premium Edition variant comes in black and has a stainless steel band. It is priced at 1999 yuan (approx. Rs. 20,200) and will be up for grabs from mid-December.

How About Competition

As of now, there is no word regarding the global launch of the Xiaomi Mi Watch. We can expect the device to be an affordable alternative to the expensive smartwatches in the market.
