Xiaomi Mi Watch Launch Date Teased Officially

As the wearable devices market is flourishing, there are many companies that want to take a plunge into this segment. Some smartwatches in the market run Google's Wear OS while some others use their own platforms. The latest one to bring Wear OS-powered smartwatches is likely to be Xiaomi.

Well, Xiaomi has already launched a slew of fitness bands in the wearable segment. Now, the company appears to be working on a smartwatch running Wear OS. As per a recent Weibo post by Xiaomi, the company has teased the launch of an upcoming device likely dubbed Mi Watch.

Xiaomi Mi Watch Launch Date

The official teaser hints that this device could be launched in China on November 5. Apart from Mi Watch, the company is touted to launch a few other products including Mi CC9 Pro featuring a 108MP primary camera sensor and Mi TV 5 series of smart TVs.

Previously, it was believed that the upcoming smartwatch will use the Xiaomi Wear chipset. Now, it has been tipped that the wearable will come with 4G LTE connectivity, eSIM support, smart voice assistant and multi-function NFC.

Notably, the Xiaomi Mi Watch is believed to run a tweaked version of Google's Android Wear OS and this is likely to be called Mi Wear OS. The design, which was leaked online hints at a circular dial. Back in September this year, Xiaomi registered a few trademarks such as Mi MIX Alpha, Mi Watch COLOR, and Millennium MIX Alpha.

For the uninitiated, the company launches smartwatches along with its partner Huami Technology. This brand has launched a slew of smartwatches under the Amazfir branding but these devices do not run Android Wear OS. So, the upcoming Xiaomi smartwatch will be the first one to run the alleged Mi Wear OS.

Our Take On Xiaomi Mi Watch

We already know how well Xiaomi product lineups use the Mi branding for its range of devices including smartphones, fitness bands, and TVs. So, we can expect the same to be repeated with the smartwatches as well. Already, the Mi Bands launched by the company are quite successful. This makes us believe that the Mi Watch will also become a bestseller.
