With the popularity and success of dual SIM budget Android smartphones, several companies based in India have started manufacturing such handsets in order secure a significant market share as and when it is booming.
After the launch of Iris N350 and Iris N320 based on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, India based manufacturer, Lava has come up with Iris N400, a dual SIM smartphone flavored with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich at Rs 6,399.
Lava Mobiles has been teasing the handset on its official Facebook page as it did prior to the launch of Xolo A700. Moreover, Iris N400 is available online for purchase from stores like Flipkart for Rs 6,399.
Lately, Karbonn Mobiles, another India based tech vendor, who is on a launch spree has come up with two dual SIM smartphones including A5+ and A15. Of the smartphone duo, A15 is 4 inch handset with a price tag of Rs 5,899 and with similar specs as the Lava offering.
Hence, if you are planning to upgrade to an entry-level Android ICS dual SIM smartphone, Gizbot has come up with a comparison between newly launched Lava Iris N400 and Karbonn A15.
Read it below and decide which smartphone is a better one for you.
Display: Both Iris N400 and A15 pack a 4 inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.
Processor & Storage: In this segment, both the handsets are powered by a 1GHz processor and hence, they fare well against each other.
Operating System: When it comes to OS, again both the handset score the same with the Android 4.0 ICS operating system.
Camera: Speaking of camera optics, Iris N400 comes with a 5MP rear camera and 0.3MP front camera for video calling as compared to the A15, which packs a 3MP rear camera and lacks a front camera.
Storage: While the RAM and internal storage capacity of Karbonn A15 are not revealed by the company, the Lava offering comes with 127MB onboard storage and 512MB RAM. However, both the handsets comes with an external micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage.
Connectivity: In terms of connectivity, both the handsets come packed with features including micro USB 2.0, Wi-Fi features, 3G and Bluetooth.

Price: On the pricing front, Lava Iris N400 and Karbonn A15 are priced at Rs 6,399 and Rs 5,899 respectively.
Both Lava Iris N400 and Karbonn A15 are entry-level low cost Android smartphones with dual SIM support and decent specifications. Moreover, based on Android 4.0 ICS, both the handsets will offer similar user experience and skin.
If the concern is on improved camera performance, front camera for video calling and slightly improved battery backup, Lava Iris N400 should be a better option.
However, if the concern is on a relatively lesser price tag and better touch response, Karbonn A15 could be the right one.
