Micron Exits Consumer Market; Crucial Shipments to Continue Until February 2026
Micron has announced it will wind down its Crucial consumer business by the end of fiscal Q2, February 2026. The move will phase out Crucial-branded RAM and SSD products that are popular in PCs and laptops.
Shipments of Crucial consumer products will continue through existing consumer channels until the end of Micron's fiscal Q2 in February 2026. This includes ongoing supply to major retailers, online stores and distribution partners across global markets. Consumers in India and other regions will therefore still see Crucial memory and storage on shelves for some time during this transition period.

Micron Crucial consumer business focus shifts towards enterprise and AI
Micron states that resources will shift towards large enterprise clients and artificial intelligence applications, where demand and profit margins are increasing faster.
"The AI-driven growth in the data center has led to a surge in demand for memory and storage. Micron has made the difficult decision to exit the Crucial consumer business in order to improve supply and support for our larger, strategic customers in faster-growing segments," said Sumit Sadana, EVP and Chief Business Officer at Micron Technology. "
While Crucial's retail line winds down, Micron will keep selling Micron-branded enterprise products worldwide. These items will remain available to commercial channel customers, including data centres and large organisations. The shift highlights Micron's priority on segments such as AI servers and enterprise infrastructure, which need high-performance memory and storage in growing volumes.
Micron also says it will collaborate closely with partners and customers as Crucial consumer operations scale back. The company will continue to honour warranties and provide service support for existing Crucial RAM and SSD buyers. Users who already own Crucial products will still receive assistance, even after new consumer sales finally stop in February 2026.
