Report: Google to Launch Pixel Watch 2 Alongside Pixel 8 Later This Year
According to a recent report from an industry source, it seems that Google is getting ready to release the second version of its smartwatch, the Pixel Watch 2, later this year, along with the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro. This comes after Google released its inaugural smartwatch, the Pixel Watch, in October of last year.
Google Pixel Watch 2 Reportedly Coming Later This Year
Reportedly, 9To5Google has indicated that the launch of the Pixel Watch 2 is planned to coincide with the release of the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro. Based on Google's past pattern, it is likely that the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro will be announced in October, which is when the tech giant has traditionally introduced its flagship products.

Google Pixel Watch 2: What Can We Expect?
Although no information has been revealed yet about the features or appearance of the Pixel Watch 2, it is expected that Google will enhance its performance by using a current-generation chip. The Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 platform, specifically designed for wearable devices, maybe the ideal chip to power the smartwatch, delivering excellent battery life due to its 4nm manufacturing process.
Qualcomm claims that the Snapdragon W5+ can provide low power consumption for extended battery life, high performance for a better user experience, and integration for more stylish and innovative designs. If these claims are true, we can anticipate a powerful and fashionable successor to the Pixel Watch this year.
Although Google has already taken a minimalist approach to the design of its smartwatch, any further improvements will be appreciated. While it has not been confirmed yet, it would be great to see the Pixel Watch 2 available in different sizes.
Google is set to hold its upcoming Google I/O event on May 10, where it is expected to introduce the Pixel 7a and Pixel Fold. Google may also give us some sneak peeks or additional information about other devices, such as the Pixel Watch 2. Hopefully, as we approach the alleged October release date, we will learn more about this highly anticipated smartwatch.
