Xiaomi Mi Watch Now Compatible With iOS
Mi Watch is Xiaomi's first smartwatch that draws a lot of design elements from the Apple Watch. It was originally unveiled a few weeks back, in China. At the time of launch, the Mi Watch was only compatible with Android smartphones. With the first major software update, the watch now gains support for iOS, which means it can be used with iPhones and iPads.
Users with an iPhone have to download the Xiaomi Wear app from the App Store to pair the Mi Watch with their devices. Plus, the latest software update also fixes several bugs like notifications. Plus, the watch can now refresh the weather app all by itself.
This update patch will roll out from December 3. And users can download the firmware directly from the watch itself by following these instructions. Go to settings → system → about → click system update and download the latest version (XM037). Make sure that the watch is connected to a high-speed Wi-Fi and Bluetooth is disconnected for a faster update process.
Xiaomi Mi Watch Specifications
The Xiaomi Mi Watch sport a 1.78-inch rectangular AMOLED display, protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 chipset with 1GB RAM and 8GB onboard storage. The watch runs on custom OS with MIUI like skin on top.
Additionally, the watch is filled with sensors like accelerometer, heart rate monitor, A-GPS, GLONASS, and BDS. The watch can make calls and store music and photos locally without a companion phone.
A 590 mAh battery fuels the watch with support for fast wireless charging. The battery is rated to last up to a week on a single charge. Plus, it has eSIM with 4G LTE networking capabilities. The base variant of the Mi Watch retails for 1,299 Yaun, which roughly translates to Rs. 13,000.
