WhatsApp has been testing a myriad of new features that are soon to come in the latest version. The Facebook-owned messaging app may have video calling as well as the capability to leave voice messages when any calls are not attended.

But rumors are now coming in that WhatsApp's next update could also include GIF support. But how well would the feature work? Let's find out.

WhatsApp Messenger is missing many new features. Adding GIF support can get a lot of people using the feature during group conversations a lot. You can share links directly to the group and also reply to your friends GIF messages.

Save to

The next version that is under beta testing allows you to save GIF files to the Camera Roll. Any GIF received from your friends can now be saved instantly.

Built-in

Unlike GIF keyboard or Gboard from Google, you cannot search for your favorite GIFs right from the app. You have to share the links or embed them into your conversations.

Facebook has a lot of features that it adds to its Messenger, including the GIF keyboard. WhatsApp user may finally not feel restricted to share GIFs only on Facebook Messenger, but could also forward the GIFs to WhatsApp friends.
