WhatsApp has finally rolled out the most awaited video calling feature for all its Android, iOS, and Windows users. However, there are several other features that most of the WhatsApp users are in need for.
The most popularized messaging platform has brought about several new features in the past few months, with the aim to improve the user interface.
Most of WhatsApp features including video calling, giving captions to images and videos, @mentions in group chats, quoted replies are said to be have been influenced by various messengers apps like Telegram, Snapchat, Instagram and others.
However, other than the newly introduced features, there are other features that the WhatsApp users are anticipating to get and here we have listed 5 of them.
Granular Controls of Auto-downloads
There is this option to turn ON or OFF auto-downloads of images and videos that you receive from your friends. However, the option is extremely inconvenient when you need to download a particular media file, but you simply can't until you tap on them.
This is when users should have granular control on these downloads, which will allow users to set auto-downloading options for individuals or groups.
Direct Login To WhatsApp on Desktop
To log in to WhatsApp for desktop, users now need their phones to successfully sign up. However, there are instances when we might not have access to our phones or it is out of charge, there's no way that the WhatsApp users can access their accounts via computers like that of Facebook.
Approval By Users Before Adding To Group
Unlike that of Facebook, WhatsApp users can be added to any and every group with even prior approval by the user. This is quite annoying in many circumstances. WhatsApp should soon bring out this feature to first to allow users to first approve before anyone adds them in a group.
After WhatsApp rolled out voice and video calling feature for its users, next in the line is the conference call. Yes, the users are soon expecting to get a new conference call feature, which will allow users to make a group call.
Encrypted Cloud Backups
Although WhatsApp is now end-to-end encrypted for chats, the encryption doesn't apply to chat backups as of now. Yes, the chat backup on iCloud or Google Drive are unencrypted and your chats are not secured. To combat this issue, WhatsApp should soon start offering encryption for the chat backups as well.
