Apple TV+ Launched In India For Rs. 99: How To Get One-Year Free Subscription

Apple TV+, the video streaming service was unveiled back in March this year. As assured earlier, this service has been launched in India. Well, with the launch of this service, Apple steps foot in the already crowded video streaming market segment in the country.

Apple TV+ is priced at Rs. 99 per month in India and $4.99 per month in the US. The company offers one week free trial of its streaming service to subscribers who are interested in the service to know what it offers. Apart from that, those who buy a new Apple device will get a one-year subscription to Apple TV+ for free.

Apple TV+ One-Year Free Subscription

As per the announcement by Apple, the Apple TV+ will be available for one year of free subscription to those who purchase a new iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, iPod Touch or Mac running the latest version of iOS, iPad OS, tvOS or macOS. And, the device should have been bought after September 10, 2019, for the buyers to be eligible to get the service for free for a year.

Notably, Apple is providing a three-month period for the users from the day of setting up the new Apple device to get the Apple TV+ subscription for free for a year. If the purchase date of the device falls between September 10 and November 1, then the three-month period to redeem the offer will start on November 1 and will end on January 31, 2020.

There is a Family Sharing benefit as well. With this feature, subscribers of the Apple TV+ service can share the subscription with up to five family members. However, only one person of the Family Sharing group can redeem the free Apple TV+ subscription for free for a year.

How To Get Apple TV+ Free For One Year

If you have purchased a new Apple device after September 10, 2019, head on to the Apple TV app on your device. In the Apple TV app, you will get a message stating 'Enjoy 1 Year Free'. If you do not get this message, scroll down to spot it.

Once you hit on the message, you will be prompted to type your Apple ID password to confirm your billing details or add a payment method. The service will not charge you anything during the one-year free trial period and you are free to cancel the trial anytime. If you do not want to continue the service, you can do it one day before the expiry of the free one-year trial period.
