Google Photos Set To Get “More Powerful Search”
Google Photos has a feature that many perhaps haven't explored much of. It has a powerful search mechanism, with which you can write descriptors like "sunset", "city" or "flowers" and it'll sift through the entire gallery to curate pictures that feature these. This search feature is now set to become more powerful.
Google Photos is now reportedly "experimenting" with its search feature. The move is aimed at helping people find photos they're looking for quickly and easily. It's presently in its experimental phase. Let's find out more.

Search Feature on Google photos Set to Become More Powerful
In recent times, on opening Google photos, some users have encountered a blue prompt that said "Try a more powerful search". Google then explained to users how to go about using this feature. One may try searching for "colorful sunset", "peaceful garden" and "Cinderella".
For generic queries, Google can come up with the curation, without you previously having tagged the photos.
Now, you can also add a qualifier to a place or surrounding to aid your search. This can be somewhat compared with Google Assistant's capability of responding to natural language queries.
In case you've tagged faces with names, you can search for those with more descriptors to help find particular images faster. For example, if you've tagged a recurring face as Charlie, you can now search with a sentence like "Charlie at the Golden Gate Bridge."
Results of New Search Features Available on Web
According to reports, the feature is being rolled out on the web version and isn't yet available on Android devices. The same query of "colourful sunset" yielded no results on an Android device, but promptly came up with results sorted according to relevance on the web version.
While speaking to 9to5Google, a spokesperson from Google elaborated on the new changes and said, "always experimenting with new ways to help people find and relive their photos and videos. This experiment allows people to search for more complex queries to help them find the photos and videos they're looking for more easily."
