New Microsoft Office App Brings Word, Excel, PowerPoint Together
Microsoft Office has launched a new Office app for Android and iOS devices. The new Microsoft Office app combines three popular Office apps, namely Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The all-in-one app aims for mobile productivity and will soon be available for the public. The Microsoft Office app was announced at the Ignite conference in Florida.
Microsoft Office App Features
The Microsoft Office app will make things easier as users don't need to download each app separately. The app comes with a new Actions pane, where users can "intuitively complete a variety of common on-the-go tasks, such as creating and signing PDFs and sharing files between devices," said Jared Spataro Corporate VP for Microsoft 365.
The Microsoft Office app is an attempt to make content creation easier on mobile devices, especially for those who work on-the-go. The new app has features where the user can click a picture of a document and convert it into a doc file, which can further be edited. The new Office app can transform tables from a printed page to an Excel sheet and more.
The Microsoft Office app, as mentioned, will be available on both Android and iOS platforms. For iOS users, the app will be available via the Apple TestFlight beta program. Android users can access the new app through the Google Play Store.
Microsoft Office App At Ignite
Apart from the Microsoft Office app, the software giant also made other announcements at the Ignite conference. Microsoft announced that the new Chromium-based Microsoft Edge browser will be generally available to all soon. The launch date is set for January 15, Microsoft announced.
Some of the features of the new Microsoft Edge are a new tab page, designed especially for enterprises. The new tab allows direct access to Microsoft 365 files. The company announced that the new Microsoft Edge browser is available across all platforms including macOS, iOS, Windows 10, Windows 8x, Windows 7, and Android.
