WhatsApp live location sharing feature to Android and iOS

Given that WhatsApp has over 200 million active users in the country, if this service is rolled out to all the users, then it could be the most used UPI payments service. To give a tough competition to WhatsApp's Payment feature, Paytm came up with the UPI payments a few months back. Even Google Tez, which was already existing came up with the chat feature letting users chat without leaving the UPI payments app.

As mentioned earlier, WhatsApp recently introduced the Send to UPI ID feature. With this feature, you can send money directly to a standalone UPI ID without actually opening the chat window unlike before. Previously, WhatsApp let users send money only to specific contacts registered on the payment service using the platform.

In addition to the new Payment related features, WhatsApp introduced the Group Description feature, which lets group admins to add a group info of 500 characters. This group info will be visible to the public so that anyone with the invite link to join the group can decide if they should join the group or not by reading the description. Also, the service came up with a switch, which lets users toggle between voice and video calls. This feature was initially spotted in the beta version of Android and now it is available for all Android users of the instant messaging platform.
