Nothing Phone 2 Drops Below ₹30,000 on Amazon: Should You Buy Now or Wait for Phone 3?

The Nothing Phone (2) is currently selling on Amazon India for just ₹28,948, a steep drop from its original launch price. This makes it one of the more eye-catching Android phones in the sub-₹30,000 bracket, thanks to its clean design, premium build, and solid specs.

But there’s a catch — the Nothing Phone (3) is launching tomorrow at 10:30 PM, and it promises to be the company’s most ambitious smartphone yet.

What You Get with the Phone 2

Even in mid-2025, the Phone 2 remains a highly capable device. It features a 6.7-inch LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and a peak brightness of 1600 nits. The visual appeal extends to the rear, where Nothing’s signature Glyph interface offers 11 LED strips for notifications, alerts, and interactions — a design language that stands out in a sea of lookalike phones.

The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, which was Qualcomm’s flagship platform not too long ago. Backed by 8GB RAM and 128GB storage in the base variant, it can still handle most modern apps and games without breaking a sweat.

The dual 50MP rear cameras offer optical image stabilization, 4K video recording, and an ultrawide lens that adds versatility. The 32MP front camera is competent for selfies and video calls.

Battery life is also a strong point. The 4700mAh unit supports 45W wired charging, 15W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging, which makes it one of the more flexible phones in this segment.

Do keep in mind: The Phone 2 has already received the Android 15 update and is eligible for Android 16 as well. However, Android 16 will be the final major update for the device, so that’s something to consider if long-term software support is a priority.

Nothing Phone 3: What We Know So Far

The Nothing Phone 3, confirmed to launch tomorrow at 10:30 PM IST, will be the company’s first true flagship, as stated by CEO Carl Pei. It is confirmed to debut with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, setting a higher performance baseline than its predecessor.

But the biggest shift will be in the design language. According to official teasers shared by Nothing, the brand has killed the original Glyph LED system. In its place is the Glyph Matrix — a dot matrix display positioned on the top-right portion of the back panel. This redesigned system is expected to allow more dynamic notifications and iconography, taking the visual interface into new territory.

The phone is also rumored to get a new triple-camera setup, with two lenses placed side-by-side and a third sensor offset toward the corner. Leaks suggest the inclusion of a 50MP main sensor, with improved zoom and low-light performance.

Pei has confirmed the Phone 3 will ship with Android 16, and will come with a software support policy of seven years, including five major Android version updates and two years of security patches.

Also rumored is a dedicated AI button, possibly offering quick access to voice assistants or generative AI tools — though this remains unconfirmed until launch.

Pricing is expected to fall between ₹50,000 and ₹60,000 in India, though Pei cited a European price of around €800, which translates to roughly ₹90,500.

Should You Buy or Wait?

The Phone 2 is a decent deal at under ₹30,000, but the Phone 3 will bring major upgrades. It’s better to wait and see the official price and features before making a decision.
