The Wall From Samsung: Features

It looks like Samsung is recreating the Wall from the Game of Thrones series, but this one is right in the comfort of your home. The electronics giant is targeting the ultra-elite and hopes to sell around 25 to 30 units of The Wall by 2020. That would ascertain the revenue of up to roughly Rs. 85.52 crores, a Samsung executive said.

The Wall from Samsung is believed to optimize the picture quality scene-by-scene. The Quantum Processor Flex packed with AI picture quality engine enhances the image regardless of the original resolution source. The Quantum Processor Flex is a picture quality engine that is machine learning-based and can analyze millions of image data.

It enables The Wall to automatically calibrate the original low-resolution image to fit the display. Samsung has given the option to connect to external operating systems via physical HDMI input. The Wall also features an ambient mode that displays numerous curated art paintings, photographs, and other video clippings when not in use. Customized pictures with digital frames can also be added - whatever suits the user's taste, Samsung said.

The Wall aims to bring out an immersive viewing experience for the user. Samsung says the enhanced display clarity and quality are designed to give users a theater-like experience in the comfort of their homes with 0.8mm pixel pitch technology. Going into the physical details, The Wall has a depth of less than 30mm and has a slim, bezel-less infinity design.

The Wall from Samsung is available in three variants, 146-inch in 4K definition, 219-inch in 6K definition, and the 292-inch in 8K definition. The Quantum HDR technology delivers a peak brightness of 2,000 nits and 120Hz video rate for the enhanced viewing experience, Samsung said.

The Wall Luxury, meant for home cinema and gaming will be available at the Samsung Executive Briefing Center, Gurugram. Another professional version dubbed The Wall Pro, targeted at high-end businesses and retail spaces is also available.
