JioFiber Likely Caps Upload Speeds To One Tenth Of Claimed Speed
Right now, the broadband industry in India is grabbing a lot of attention due to the variety of high-speed internet plans unlike never before. When the JioFiber was launched by Reliance Jio, there was high anticipation for the service as these plans touted to provide more benefits than other service providers in the segment.

However, soon after the commercial availability of the JioFiber broadband plans, there wasn't much enthusiasm among potential subscribers as these plans did not come at a low cost as the 4G plans from the company.
The announced that its broadband plans will offer speeds ranging from 100Mbps to 1Gbps. While this was a major selling point of the JioFiber connections, it looks like there is a catch in the same. Recent reports suggest that the upload speeds could be capped at one-tenth of the assured speed, which comes as a shock to many JioFiber users.
JioFiber Upload Speed Cap Details
Going by a TelecomTalk report citing a few Twitter users, Reliance Jio is alleged to have implemented an upper-speed cap on the JioFiber broadband plans. These claims suggest that the upload speeds are relatively lower than those of the download speeds.
As per the report, JioFiber is said to cap the upload speeds of the JioFiber broadband plans to one-tenth (10%) of the original speed assured by the company. This means that if you opt for a plan providing 100Mbps speed, then you are entitled to get only 10Mbps upload speed.
This issue of upload speed capping could be a major concern for those JioFiber users who prefer playing online multiplayer games. It will hamper the gaming performance due to the capped upload speeds. Even those who are trying to upload media content to any platform will find issues due to the slow upload speeds.
Well, this comes within weeks after the company started charging users for the JioFiber service as the Preview Offer came to an end. Even after the launch of JioFiber broadband plans, the existing users were enjoying the service for free for two months. Now, all users have to pay for the service.
