JioFi 4G LTE Hotspot with 150Mbps download speeds launched for Rs. 999
Reliance Jio has introduced a new variant of JioFi with a 3000mAh battery.
Reliance Jio has announced the launch of a new device in the JioFi lineup. The new JioFi 4G LTE hotspot device with the model number Jio JMR815 is priced at Rs. 999. This device is exclusive to the online retailer Flipkart. The highlight of the new JioFi 4G LTE hotspot device is touted to be its ability to render download speeds of up to 150Mpbs and upload speeds of up to 50Mbps.
The new JioFi variant comes with the "Designed in India" tag. Unlike the previous generation oval-shaped dongle, the new model from Reliance Jio comes with a circular build and has physical buttons for power on and power off and WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup). Also, the new JioFi 4G LTE hotspot variant has notification lights for Wi-Fi and 4G signal strength and battery level.
Similar to the previous generation model, the new JioFi variant supports up to 32 devices to connect to its high-speed 4G network. Of these, 31 users are said to be connected via Wi-Fi and one via USB. Once the devices are connected to the JioFi 4G LTE hotspot, the network will offer HD voice and video calls through the Jio 4G Voice app installed on the connected smartphones.
The JioFi 4G LTE Hotspot is equipped with an ALT3800 processor and comes with support for FDD-Band 3 and Band 5 and TDD-Band 40. There is a microSD card slot supporting up to 64GB of expandable storage. The device is powered by a 3000mAh battery, which is touted to have a charging time of 3.5 hours. This is an improvement in comparison to the previous generation JioFi as the latter has a 2300mAh battery.
Notably, a few days back, Reliance Jio announced a new Rs. 1,999 offer for the JioFi. Under this offer, the previous JioFi device will be bundled with free data and vouchers worth Rs. 3,595. To be specific, the JioFi will arrive with data worth Rs. 1,295 and Rs. 2,300 worth vouchers from Reliance Digital, AJIO and Paytm. What's more interesting is that it is optional for buyers to buy the JioFi at Rs. 1,999 and the device is also up for sale at Rs. 999 without any benefits.
