Google Pixel 8a: Worth Buying?

Given its significant discount, the Pixel 8a is still a good choice with the in-house Tensor G3 processor and a 6.1-inch Actua display with an updated 120Hz refresh rate. Moreover, the Pixel 8a packs a 4,492 mAh battery with support for 18W wired and 7.5W wireless charging.

For imaging, it offers a 64MP primary sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 13MP selfie camera. All three sensors are capable of recording up to 4K resolution videos. Moreover, the smartphone includes several AI features, such as Circle to Search, Best Take, Magic Editor, Magic Eraser, and more.

Should You Buy or Wait for Pixel 9a?

While there's no official word regarding the specifications and pricing of the upcoming Pixel 9a, leaks suggest that Google will introduce some design changes to the Pixel 9a, removing the signature camera bump and opting for a flatter rear panel. The upcoming Pixel 9a is also tipped to be powered by the Tensor G4 chipset.

Moreover, the next-gen model is likely to feature a larger display and battery compared to the Pixel 8a. It may also feature an IP68 rating, while the Pixel 8a comes with an IP67 rating. As far as the price is concerned, the next-gen model is rumoured to carry a similar price tag as the Pixel 8a.

If you're eager to experience a new processor and enhanced AI-powered features, waiting for the Pixel 9a could be worthwhile. However, with the Pixel 8a currently available for Rs 36,099, it remains a solid option to consider right now.
