Design

Both the Xiaomi 14 Pro and Redmi K70 Pro feature a glass and metal construction, although the former's Ceramic Glass features better drop and scratch resistance. Moreover, the Xiaomi 14 Pro also boasts an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. Lastly, the Xiaomi 14 Pro's screen has visible curvature, while the Redmi K70 Pro features a flat front panel.

Display

Speaking of front panels, the displays on both the Xiaomi 14 Pro and Redmi K70 Pro feature a similar resolution and refresh rate. Pixel density is nearly identical on both phones. However, Xiaomi's LTPO panel offers a more adaptive refresh rate and are better for power consumption than traditional OLED screens.

On the other hand, the Redmi K70 Pro offers 3840 High frequency PWM dimming, double that of the 1920Hz found on the Xiaomi 14 Pro. Moreover, the Redmi K70 Pro can also achieve a peak brightness of 4,000 nits, a whole 1,000 more than the Xiaomi 14 Pro.

Performance

While both phones use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, the Redmi K70 Pro offers a maximum of 24GB LPDDR5X RAM, giving it a slight edge in performance. Additionally, the Redmi K70 Pro also has a larger cooling system than the Xiaomi 14 Pro.

According to reports, the Xiaomi 14 Pro's AnTuTu score hovers around the 2 million-mark falling short of it or just surpassing it in some instances. However, the Redmi K70 Pro is shown to easily surpass the 2-million mark on AuTuTu, making it the clear winner on the performance front.

Cameras

Both phones feature a triple-camera setup on the back with a similar set of lenses, although the sensors they use differ. The Xiaomi 14 Pro uses a 50 MP Leica ultra-dynamic main camera that uses a custom Hunter 900 sensor that features a variable aperture (f/1.42 - f/4.0), a 2.4μm large pixel output, and OIS support.

Additionally, there's a 50 MP ultrawide lens with an f/2.2 aperture, autofocus, and a 115-degree FOV. Lastly, there's a 50 MP Leica 75mm floating telephoto lens with a 75mm equivalent focal length, and OIS support. Up front, the Xiaomi 14 Pro opts for a 32 MP selfie camera.

The Redmi K70 Pro features a 50 MP Light Hunter 800 sensor with an f/1.6 aperture and OIS support as well as a 12 MP ultrawide lens, and a 50 MP portrait lens with 2x optical zoom. The Redmi K70 Pro opts for a 16 MP selfie camera up front. However, there's no Leica fine tunning here.

Battery

The Redmi K70 Pro has a slightly larger battery than the Xiaomi 14 Pro. However, wired charging support is the same on both phones, while the Xiaomi 14 Pro offers fast wireless charging support as well. However, the Redmi K70 Pro brings better battery durability thanks to independent fast charging and battery management chips.

Both the Redmi K70 Pro and Xiaomi 14 Pro are formidable flagship smartphones. However, the two hold very different roles in the smartphone landscape. The Xiaomi 14 Pro aims to deliver a premium smartphone experience, while the Redmi K70 Pro is a value-added flagship that makes a few concessions to maintain a reasonable price.

However, both phones trade blows with the Redmi K70 Pro coming out on top in the battery, performance, and display areas. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 14 Pro features a more premium design with better cameras. Choosing between one or the other comes down to the roles they play in the smartphone landscape.
