Four Nokia 2 variants visit FCC; launch could be imminent

According to the recent FCC documents, it looks like HMD Global is prepping not one but four variants of the Nokia 2. Eventually, it looks like we are approaching closer to the unveiling of the same. As per a recent report by Android Headlines, four different FCC listings were spotted with the model numbers TA-1007, TA-1023, TA-1029, and TA-1035. These are believed to be the different model numbers of the Nokia 2 smartphone.

The listings did not divulge any details regarding the specifications of these models. However, from the previous leaks and rumors, it is likely that the Nokia 2 might be launched with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor paired with 1GB/2GB RAM and a 2800mAh battery. Going by the recent reports, the Nokia 2 is said to feature a 5-inch HD 720p display and flaunt an 8MP main camera at its rear and a 5MP selfie camera as well.

As in the other Nokia Android smartphones launched by HMD Global, this one is also believed to run on a near stock Android version and might be launched with the Android 7.0 Nougat OS. We can expect the Nokia 2 to receive the Android 8.0 O update as soon as the same is officially released by the end of this year.

We do have to mention HMD's assurance that it will offer two years of OS support to the Nokia smartphones. Eventually, the Nokia smartphones launched by the company will receive the Android O and Android P updates until 2018. Recently, HMD confirmed that the Nokia 3, the existing entry-level smartphone will receive the Android O update in the coming months.
