HMD Global is hitting the tech headlines in the past few months as it is prepping to launch the entry-level Nokia 2. Also, the company is busy in testing the Android 8.0 Oreo update on its existing affordable flagship - the Nokia 8 along with the other smartphones and in releasing the Nokia 8 in the global markets.
Now, it looks like the company is not prepping to launch only the Nokia 2 in the market. It looks there will be another smartphone accompanying the entry-level smartphone that is all set to go official in the coming months. Though there is no specific timeframe when we can expect these smartphones to be launched, a recent report by Nokiamob citing the tipster Roland Quandt, hints that the launch will not be far away.
According to the report, two unknown Nokia smartphones have received the CCC certification in China with the codenames TA-1041 and TA-1042. These smartphones are listed seem to have the quick charge feature that was seen on the Nokia 8. Given that they have quick charge support, these smartphones might not be entry-level offerings. And, there are increased possibilities for these to be the variants of the Nokia 8 meant for China.
However, the Twitter-based tipster with a good reputation in revealing details about upcoming smartphones hints that HMD is working on another Android smartphone in addition to the Nokia 2. He states that the other phone will be launched by the company soon. There are chances for the same to be the true flagship - Nokia 9 or a watered-down variant of the flagship model - Nokia 7.
We can get to know more about the plans of HMD in the coming weeks. Having said that the render of the Nokia 2 shows the date as October 5, we can expect these phones to be unveiled then. However, we need to wait for a confirmation from the company about the same.
