MediaTek Dimensity 9200 Plus flagship chipset announcement confirmed for May 10

MediaTek is gearing up to launch a new flagship chipset next month. The MediaTek Dimensity 9200 Plus SoC will be a faster version of the Dimensity 9200 that was unveiled back in November 2022.

To recall, MediaTek used the same strategy last year with the Dimesnity 9000+, which was a small upgrade over the Dimensity 9000. The MediTek Dimensity 9200+ SoC will be announced on May 10, 2023.

MediaTek Dimensity 9200 Expected Specs

With last year's MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ chip got a minor boost to frequency, while the rest of the specifications remained the same as the Dimensity 9000 chipset. The MediTek Dimensity 9200+ chip will be built on the same 4nm FinFET process as the original Dimensity 9200 SoC.

For reference, the MediaTek Dimensity 9200's CPU featured one Cortex-X3 core, three Cortex-A715 cores, and four Cortex-A510 efficiency cores. The CPU was paired with the Immortalis-G715 MC11. The CPU and GPU configuration on the 'Plus' version of the chip will remain the same, although clock speeds will increase.

MediaTek Dimensity 9200 Smartphones

While there is no official confirmation, reports have been doing the rounds suggesting that the iQOO Neo 8 Pro and the iQO 11S will use the upcoming MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ SoC. Moreover, the chip is expected to surpass the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset in terms of raw performance.

It is still early days, so we'd suggest taking information about the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ with a pinch of salt. However, the Realme 11 series is also arriving in China on May 10. The Realme 11 series is expected to use an unreleased version of the MediaTek Dimensity 7000 series chip, so we could see the chip tag along with the Dimensity 9200+ SoC.
