Moto E5 and E5 Plus FCC filing leaks online
Motorola is prepping to launch budget smartphones in the E5 lineup.
Motorola is likely to host an event on April 19 to unveil the Moto G6 smartphones. We have seen a number of leaks and rumors regarding these smartphones of late. But the company is also prepping to unveil the Moto E5 smartphones in the near future. The fresh information reveals the processors used by the upcoming Moto E handsets.
A recent leak shed light on the design of the Moto E5 and E5 Plus in full glory. Now a leaked FCC filing via Android Authority reveals the processor details. These leaked documents of the Moto E5 series smartphones show their alleged model numbers, processors and graphics processing unit. The filing does not reveal the other details.
Moto E5 FCC filing
From the leaked documents, the Moto E5 is seen to carry the model numbers XT1924-4 and XT1924-5. The filing shows that the smartphone might feature a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC. This processor appears to be teamed up with Adreno 308 GPU.
Moto E5 Plus FCC filing
When it comes to the bigger Moto E5 Plus, the regulatory database shows that the device will carry the model number XT1924-3. It is listed to make use of a relatively more powerful processor, which is the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC clocked at a higher speed of 1.4GHz. This processor is said to be teamed up with an upgraded Adreno 505 GPU.
Rumored specs
From the previous reports, the Moto E series phones of this year are expected to arrive with 18:9 displays of varying screen sizes. The battery capacity is said to be a major distinguishing aspect. The Moto E5 is likely to feature a 2800mAh battery while the E5 Plus could have a more capacious 4000mAh battery. Otherwise, both the smartphones are expected to run Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.
Motorola is yet to confirm when the Moto E5 smartphones will be announced. If the Moto E5 and E5 Plus are announced with the above-mentioned aspects, then these handsets will offer a great value for their pricing. We say so as the E5 phones are believed to be priced in the budget price bracket.
