OnePlus has been teasing its upcoming flagship OnePlus 6 for quite some time now. The company has already announced that the smartphone will have an iPhone X-like notch. Now a new image of the smartphone has surfaced online, and the device resembles the recently launched OPPO R15. This doesn't come as a surprise, but this is the first time we have got a peek into how the device will actually look.
As the image suggests, the smartphone boasts really narrow bezels with a very slim chin at the bottom. It shows the AIDA64 hardware and software information running on the handset. This also corroborates with the previous reports claiming that a Snapdragon 845 64-bit octa-core processor will fire up the device.
Recently, known tipster, Evan Blass also posted images revealing the back panel of the device. If the images are to be believed, the OnePlus 6 will flaunt a considerably altered back panel than the OPPO R15, as it will come with a wood-like back cover, similar to some of the company's official cases for its OnePlus 5T.
As per the reports, the OnePlus 6 will sport a 6.28-inch fullHD+ display with 2280 x 1080 pixel resolution. It will have 6GB and 8GB RAM options and will have support for company's proprietary Dash Charge fast charging tech. The device is also confirmed to have navigation gestures, while the alert slider will have new functionality. The company still doesn't believe in cutting ties with the 3.5mm audio jack with its upcoming flagship.
Speaking of the notch, company CEO Pete Lau shared the first official image of the notch, which wasn't taken very well by the fans. Later the company confirmed that it will release a software update that will allow users to hide the notch. A new feature will blacken either side of the notch to make it look like a conventional display.
The smartphone was tipped for a June launch, but the latest reports suggest that the device will be unveiled by the end of April. The company is also said to be working with Marvel for an Avengers-themed OnePlus 6. This also concretes the launch date as the next Avengers movie is due for an April 27 release.
A new video show intercuts between the OnePlus and Avengers logo, and also reveals the date of the upcoming Avengers movie. By the looks, it seems this was a test video that was posted on facebook by mistake. But this also gives us a good peek into what the company is planning for its upcoming flagship.
It's unclear whether the device will make it to the Indian market, but since the Star Wars edition was available for the Indian consumers, the Avengers themed-device might also hit the subcontinent shores.
