OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro Launch Details Tipped

Unlike before, OnePlus took the wraps off four new smartphones this year. As of now, the company is done with the launches for the year. And, rumors and speculations regarding the next-generation models have started surfacing online. Now, fresh information sheds light on when to expect the upcoming smartphones.

OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro, the next-generation smartphones from the company have been surfacing online for quite some time. We have already seen some leaked renders giving us an idea of the design with a punch-hole display. Now, information pertaining to the launch of these smartphones has emerged online.

OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro Launch Details

As of now, there is no official confirmation regarding the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro. In the meantime, a tweet shared by tipster Max J as seen below hints that the upcoming OnePlus smartphones will be available sometime in the second quarter of 2020.

Well, this timeframe seems to be practical and falls in line with the launch of its predecessors. To recall, the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro were unveiled back in May this year. Though there is no specific launch date for these smartphones, we can expect it to fall in May as it adheres to the launch of predecessors during the past couple of years.

OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro Rumored Specifications

OnePlus 8 Pro is believed to be a slightly upgraded variant to the OnePlus 8. The smartphone is said to flaunt a relatively bigger 6.65-inch display while the OnePlus 8 might arrive with a 6.5-inch display. Already, the company has confirmed that all the future smartphones from the brand will have a 90Hz refresh rate, which we saw initially in the OnePlus 7 Pro.

From the leaked renders, the arrangement of the Alert Slider, power button and volume rockers seem to be identical to that we have seen so far. The bottom edge appears to have a SIM tray, a USB Type-C port, and a redesigned speaker grills. We can expect these smartphones to be powered by the next-generation Qualcomm flagship chipset.

Our Thoughts On OnePlus 8

While nothing is confirmed regarding the OnePlus 8 series, there are speculations that the company might launch both 4G and 5G variants. It is also said to feature 12GB RAM and 256GB storage in the top-of-the-line variant. Like the previous years, it is quite common to believe that it might pose a threat to the other flagships slated for next year.
