OnePlus Ace 5 May Hit Shelves in December With Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and a Massive 6500mAh Battery

After months of speculation, the OnePlus Ace 5 is inching closer to its official debut. Leaks first surfaced in August detailing the device's display and processing power, and now a well-known tipster, Digital Chat Station, has confirmed that the smartphone is expected to launch in China this December.

This timeline suggests that the device could soon make its way to global markets, possibly rebranded as the OnePlus 13R, with a potential unveiling in January 2025 alongside the OnePlus 13.

OnePlus Ace 5: Key Features and Upgrades

The OnePlus Ace 5 is expected to deliver solid hardware specs, with a 6.78-inch 1.5K BOE X2 8T LTPO flat display. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, the device is set to offer strong performance for gaming and multitasking. In terms of photography, the Ace 5 will feature a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro camera, staying true to the camera setup found in earlier Ace series phones.

One standout feature of the Ace 5 is its large 6500mAh battery, coupled with 100W fast charging support. The device will also retain the iconic alert slider, a signature element of OnePlus devices. Unlike the OnePlus 13, which is rumored to feature an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, the Ace 5 will stick with an optical fingerprint scanner.

OnePlus Ace 5 Pro: A Step Up with a Telephoto Lens

The Ace 5 Pro variant is expected to be the higher-end model, bringing a few upgrades to the table. Notably, the Pro version is rumored to include a telephoto camera, a feature that will differentiate it from the standard Ace 5. The Pro model will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC and will feature a slightly smaller battery capacity, around 6200mAh to 6300mAh.
