Qualcomm is set to officially unveil its next flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Elite, during today’s Snapdragon Summit. This highly anticipated chip, previously known as Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, is already making headlines thanks to leaked benchmark results that suggest it could be a game-changer for Android devices.

Snapdragon 8 Elite’s Impressive Benchmark Scores

Ahead of the official announcement, leaked benchmark results (courtesy of Smartprix) for the Snapdragon 8 Elite have been circulating, showing impressive performance gains. A prototype Realme GT7 Pro running the chipset recently scored 3,025,991 on the AnTuTu benchmark. This score places the Snapdragon 8 Elite ahead of both Apple's A18 Pro and MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400, which scored 1.65 million and 2.8 million, respectively.

The chip also performed well on Geekbench, where it recorded 3,216 points in the single-core test and 10,051 points in the multi-core test. For comparison, Dimensity 9400 scored 2,818 and 8,847 in those categories, while Apple’s A18 Pro registered 3,386 in single-core but lagged behind with 8,306 in multi-core.

Two Versions, One Powerful Chipset

The Snapdragon 8 Elite is rumored to come in two variations. The base version is expected to feature two Oryon cores running at 4.09 GHz and six cores at 2.78 GHz. Meanwhile, the premium version will push performance even further, with the top two cores clocked at 4.32 GHz.

Both versions will be built on TSMC’s 3nm process, promising better power efficiency and heat management. The chipset also boasts the Adreno 830 GPU, designed to deliver top-tier gaming and multimedia performance.

Leaked details about the Snapdragon 8 Elite indicate it will feature eight CPU cores, including two powerful Oryon cores clocked at 4.09 GHz and six efficiency cores running at 2.78 GHz. The Adreno 830 GPU will handle intensive tasks such as gaming, while the Hexagon NPU will focus on AI-powered applications, enabling faster on-device processing.
