Qualcomm Subtly Confirms Snapdragon Chips for Galaxy S25 Series; Snapdragon 8 Elite Likely for Entire Lineup

The countdown has begun for Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked 2025, set to take place on January 22. While Samsung has kept the official details under wraps, leaks and teasers have given us plenty to look forward to, especially for the Galaxy S25 series.

From the rumored Snapdragon-powered lineup to new camera enhancements, here's what we know so far.

Qualcomm Subtly Confirms Snapdragon Processors for Galaxy S25 Series

Snapdragon 8 Elite Could Power the Entire Galaxy S25 Lineup

Qualcomm may have inadvertently confirmed its partnership with Samsung for the Galaxy S25 series when its official account reposted Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked announcement with the phrase, "See you there." This suggests that Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset will feature in all models of the Galaxy S25 lineup, replacing Samsung's usual mix of Exynos and Snapdragon processors across different regions.

However, this move might come at a cost as reports have indicated that the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset comes with a $190 price tag per unit, potentially raising the overall price of the Galaxy S25 series.

Galaxy S25 Ultra to Feature Improved Low-Light Video

The Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to push the boundaries of smartphone photography yet again. A leak from tipster Ice Universe (via) highlights a significant improvement in nighttime video quality, enabled by the processing power of the Snapdragon 8 Elite. However, this feature will reportedly remain exclusive to the S25 Ultra and won't trickle down to older models like the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

While Samsung hasn't shared details on how this enhancement works, it's likely to further solidify the Ultra's position as a go-to device for content creators and photography enthusiasts.

Camera Upgrades for the S25 Ultra

In addition to its rumored low-light video capabilities, the Galaxy S25 Ultra could also see hardware upgrades with new ultrawide and 3x telephoto lenses. Samsung has consistently prioritized camera innovation in its Ultra models, and these enhancements seem to follow that trend.

RAM and Regional Variants

For those eyeing a high-performance variant, it looks like the 16GB RAM version of the Galaxy S25 Ultra will only be available in South Korea and China, according to the same leak. Buyers in other regions may have to settle for lower memory configurations.

Meanwhile, new rumors of the upcoming model, the Galaxy S25 Slim, have also surfaced, and it looks to pack quite a lot in its thickness of under 6.x mm.

Pre-Reserve the Galaxy S25 Series

For eager buyers, Samsung has already opened pre-reservations for the Galaxy S25 series. You can secure your device early through Samsung's official website or Flipkart's pre-reserve page.

What's Next?

With less than two weeks to go, the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event is shaping up to be one of the most exciting tech launches of the year. Between the possible Snapdragon-only lineup, exclusive camera features, and the potential debut of a fourth model, there's a lot to look forward to.

Whether the rumored Galaxy S25 Slim makes an appearance or not, this event will give us a clear look at Samsung's direction for its flagship smartphones in 2025. In the meantime, you can check out our Galaxy S25 series roundup for all the scoops.
