Realme GT 7 Pro Expected to Feature Upgraded Periscope Camera, Ultrasonic Fingerprint Sensor
Realme recently confirmed the launch of the GT 7 Pro in India. The Realme GT 7 Pro launch in India is expected to take place later this year in the fall.
To recall, the Realme GT 6T has already been unveiled in India, while the Realme GT 6 will make its debut in the country on June 20. However, there's no official word on the Realme GT 7 Pro's launch, while its specifications are still under wraps.

New Periscope Camera
However, tipster Smart Pikachu, through Weibo, hinted at the Realme GT 7 series phone, probably the GT 7 Pro, featuring a periscope telephoto camera. This camera will provide higher optical zoom for distant objects.
Although the exact sensor size remains undisclosed at this time. Additionally, the phone is said to include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. Unlike edge-based sensors, these sensors measure fingerprint ridges, offering more accuracy, especially with wet fingers.
New Ultrasonic Fingerprint Reader
We are expected to see similar sensors on the upcoming OnePlus 13 and Xiaomi 15. Ultrasonic fingerprint sensors use sound waves to map fingerprints. High-frequency sound waves create a 3D fingerprint image by bouncing back from the finger. In contrast, optical scanners rely on light waves to produce a 2D map.
Sound echoes provide a more reliable fingerprint image than light reflections, particularly for wet fingers. They can bypass surface imperfections on the finger, making them more accurate and harder to spoof.
Ultrasonic sensors can also detect heart pulses and blood flow. They can monitor heart rate, BMI, and blood sugar levels, which might save on extra components for phone makers.
Realme GT 7 Pro Launch Timeline (Expected)
Recently, tipster Digital Chat Station mentioned that the Realme GT 7 Pro will be the first phone with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. This chipset will likely be revealed in the fourth quarter of 2024 and is also expected to power the iQOO 13, OnePlus 13, Xiaomi 15, and Xiaomi 15 Pro.
The Realme GT 7 Pro will succeed the GT 6 Pro, which is still awaiting its release. Realme's Vice President Chase Xu confirmed that the GT 7 Pro will launch in India. Notably, the Realme GT 5 Pro was not revealed in India after its China release.
