Samsung Files Patent With Numerous Screen Designs: Report
Samsung Galaxy S11 is under works and numerous leaks about the flagship device have already surfaced. A new report suggests that Samsung is working on something 'far more radical' for the Galaxy lineup. PatentlyApple suggests that Samsung has revealed a new array of foldable smartphone designs in its latest report.
Samsung Galaxy Lineup With New Designs
The US Patent and Trademark Office received a patent application from Samsung which unfolds to numerous new designs. A notable one is the front-facing foldable design, similar to the Huawei Mate X. The leaked images also reveal some rollable and tabbed designs for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy series.
According to PatentlyApple, "the patent contains 135 patent figures to review." Further research has revealed more images like diagrams of tabs that are detachable and can be used to add supplemental storage, battery capacity or some physical hardware buttons.
Samsung Scrolling Display
Adding to the list is Samsung's scrolling display. The patent shows a device where it needs to be scrolled down to expand the display of the smartphone. When scrolled and fully expanded, the device is the size of a tablet. The idea is to make the scrolled device easy to carry as it fits in the pockets easily. This could be another design under works for a Samsung Galaxy Fold lineup.
Adding to the list, the patent filed by Samsung shows that the South-Korean tech giant plans to integrate front-facing cameras under a smartphone's display. The batch of 'New Infinity' display technology will be out soon, many speculate.
Samsung Galaxy S11
Samsung has filed numerous possibilities for smartphone designs in a single patent. Displays that are scrollable, bendable, detachable, and more have surfaced on the filed patent. However, this doesn't necessarily mean Samsung will launch smartphones with all of these designs.
At the same time, Samsung is certainly gearing up to offer something new with the Galaxy S11 smartphone. Rumors also suggest that Samsung is working on a new addition to the Samsung Galaxy S10 series with the Galaxy S10 Lite. So far, there hasn't been any confirmation about the release date, but the smartphone is expected to feature s 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display.
