We are just a week away from the unveiling of the Galaxy Note 8, the successor to the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7. Now, a recent report from Korea reveals the details about the dual camera system of the device.

According to a report by ETNews (via: Android Headlines), the upcoming Samsung flagship phablet - Galaxy Note 8 will feature a dual lens rear camera system comprising of a 12MP primary dual pixel RGB sensor and a 13MP secondary sensor with telephoto lens. The report further adds that the rear camera system will support 2x optical zoom along with the secondary telephoto lens and OIS support as well.

While we already know that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will feature a rear camera arrangement at its back, the details have the camera have hit the web now giving out more information about the upcoming device. Notably, the Galaxy Note 8 will be the very first device from the stable of the South Korean tech giant to arrive with a dual camera setup. From now, all the future flagship devices from Samsung are believed to feature dual rear camera arrangements.

With the dual rear camera module, the Samsung flagship device users will be able to achieve the blur or bokeh effect while clicking portraits. In addition to this ability, users can take advantage of the dual lens technology that will offer optical zoom in smartphones instead of digital zoom. Notably, digital zoom makes the images pixelated and noisy.

Talking about the Galaxy Note 8, the device is speculated to flaunt a 6.3-inch QHD+ Infinity Display as seen on the flagship Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones. It is believed to feature a pressure sensitive display. The hardware aspects comprise of a Snapdragon 835 SoC paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage capacity. While there will be 12MP and 13MP dual rear camera sensors on board, the front facer is believed to be an 8MP unit. The smartphone is believed to run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS out of the box.

With a few more days left for the launch of the Galaxy Note 8, we can expect more details about the camera and other specs to hit the web before the Unpacked event on August 23.
