Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2026 Date Confirmed: Z Fold 8, Fold 8 Ultra, Flip 8, Watch 9, Smart Glasses Expected
The wait for Samsung's next foldable lineup is almost over. The company has confirmed a date for its second Galaxy Unpacked of 2026, where the Galaxy Z Fold 8, a possible Z Fold 8 Ultra, and the Galaxy Z Flip 8 are all expected to make an appearance.

When and Where to Watch
Mark July 22 on your calendar. Samsung's keynote starts at 2 PM BST, which lands at 6:30 PM IST for us Indian folks.
Samsung's streaming the whole thing on its own website, through Samsung Newsroom, and on its YouTube channel. If you'd rather not wait, registrations are already live on Samsung's site, and signing up gets you early teasers and launch-day offers before the keynote even starts.
What’s Expected
The real story going into this Unpacked is Samsung potentially breaking from its usual two-foldable formula. Instead of just a Fold and a Flip, leaks suggest three devices could show up on stage: a Galaxy Z Fold 8, a Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and the Galaxy Z Flip 8.

What's got people talking is Samsung's own teaser material, which shows off a foldable that looks distinctly shorter and wider than anything in the current lineup. That's being read as confirmation of the wide-foldable concept that's been rumoured for years, likely landing under the Z Fold 8 name. Meanwhile, the classic taller, narrower shape everyone's used to could get pushed to an Ultra tier this generation instead of disappearing.
On paper, the Z Fold 8 is tipped to carry a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel on the inside, a 5.5-inch outer display, and Qualcomm's next flagship chip built specifically for Galaxy hardware, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The Ultra version is rumoured to go even further, with a 5,000mAh battery, 45W wired charging, and a screen that could hit 3,600 nits at peak brightness if the leaks hold up.
Software-wise, Samsung's teased that these new foldables will get Galaxy AI tools designed around the bigger unfolded canvas, rather than repurposed features from its regular phone lineup.
Watches and Possibly Smart Glasses
Foldables won't be the only hardware on stage. Samsung's also expected to launch the Galaxy Watch 9 alongside a Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, with early reports suggesting the Ultra model could pack a display hitting 5,000 nits, an 800mAh battery, and IP69K water and dust resistance.
There's also a real chance Samsung uses this event to tease its smart glasses project for the first time publicly. The company has already confirmed it's working with fashion labels Warby Parker and Gentle Monster on the wearable side, and these glasses are expected to run on the same Android XR platform powering the Galaxy XR headset.
Everything mentioned here about unreleased hardware comes from leaks and industry chatter, not official Samsung confirmation. Final specs could look different once the keynote actually happens on July 22.
