Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event for foldables will take place late July in Seoul: Official

Samsung is all set to launch the next generation of its foldable smartphones ahead of schedule this year. Last week, Lee Young-hee, the President of Samsung DX's Global Marketing Center, confirmed the location of the next Galaxy Unpacked event.

And now, Samsung has confirmed that the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event will be hosted in Seoul, South Korea. The tech giant also confirmed that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event will be hosted in late July as opposed to August.

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked Event Date

The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event will take place at COEX in Samseong-dong, Gangnam. In its release, Samsung said, "This unique location offers the world an opportunity to experience the captivating blend of past, present and future that defines Seoul."

This also marks the first time that a Galaxy Unpacked event will be hosted in South Korea since its inception in March 2010. While this comes as no surprise, Samsung also mentioned that it will be unveiling the next generation of its foldable smartphones at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event in July 2023.

The Significance of Seoul, South Korea

Samsung has held Unpacked in key cities around the world including New York, London, Berlin, and Barcelona, serving as a global platform to unveil groundbreaking innovations, and setting new directions for the mobile industry.

With the upcoming 27th Unpacked event in Seoul, Samsung is shifting its direction for Unpacked for foldable devices to focus on different trend-leading cultural cities around the globe that align with the designated theme of each event. Seoul was selected because of its role in influencing global trends and its reflection of Samsung's strong confidence in the foldable category.

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2023: What's in store?

The stars of the show at Samsung's next Galaxy Unpacked event will undoubtedly be the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. Apart from the two foldable smartphones, Samsung will also unveil the Galaxy Watch 6 series at the next Unpacked event.

Samsung could also launch the Galaxy Tab S9 series at the upcoming event. While Samsung is expected to host the next Galaxy Unpacked event in late July, presumably 26 or 27, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 could hit global markets by the second week of August.
