The Tecno Camon 20 series is set to make its highly anticipated debut in the Indian market on May 27, 2023. This series, which includes the Camon 20, Camon 20 Pro, Camon 20 Pro 5G, and Camon 20 Premier 5G smartphones, was initially launched in Nigeria earlier in May.

Now, Transsion Holdings, the Chinese company that owns the Tecno brand, is ready to bring these feature-packed smartphones to Indian consumers.

Tecno has officially announced the release date of the Camon 20 series in India through a Twitter announcement on Monday. The launch of these photography-centric smartphones is scheduled for May 27. Pre-bookings for the devices have already begun through various retail partners.

The Tecno Camon 20 boasts a 6.67-inch, FHD+, AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is equipped with a Helio G85 chipset, coupled with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The smartphone is powered by a robust 5,000mAh battery, which supports 33W fast charging.

On the front, it features a high-resolution 32MP sensor. On the rear, users will find a triple camera system consisting of a 64MP main camera, a 2MP depth sensor, and a QVGA camera.

The Camon 20 Pro shares many similarities with the Camon 20, including the same 6.67-inch, FHD+, AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the Helio G99 chip and is equipped with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

The smartphone is fueled by a reliable 5,000mAh battery, which also supports 33W charging for quick power-ups. Like the Camon 20, the Camon 20 Pro features a 32MP front-facing camera and a triple camera system on the rear.

These smartphones feature identical displays and are powered by the advanced Dimensity 8050 chipset. Both also come with 8GB of RAM and a 5,000mAh battery.

The Pro variant offers 256GB of storage and 33W charging. On the other hand, the Premier model boasts an impressive 512GB of storage and faster 45W charging, catering to users with higher storage needs and a need for faster charging speeds.

In terms of camera capabilities, the Camon 20 Pro 5G features a triple camera system, with a 64MP primary camera equipped with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. The Camon 20 Premier, on the other hand, includes a 50MP main camera featuring sensor-shift OIS and laser autofocus, a 108MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP depth sensor.

All models in the Camon 20 series run on HiOS 13, based on Android 13. Additionally, these smartphones are equipped with an in-screen fingerprint scanner for convenient and secure unlocking.

Tecno's Ultimage Imaging Tecnology

Tecno recently introduced a new imaging technology called Ultimage. It combines sensor-shift technology for better stabilization, RGBW Pro that replaces the green array of the RGGB color filter with a white one to capture more light, and Portrait Master for capturing high-quality portraits. This tech is present in the upcoming Camon 20 series.
