MWC 2024 | Tecno Camon 30 Premier 5G Launched with Dedicated Sony ISP, PolarAce Imaging System

Tecno recently dropped new smartphones at MWC 2024 in its Camon and Pova series. However, our focus is on the Tecno Canon 30 Primer, the top-end smartphone in the line-up.

Before we dive into its specifications, here's a look at the Tecno Camon 30 series and Tecno Pova 6 series. The Tecno Canon 30 Primer 5G features the company's PolarAce Imaging System as well as a list of premium mid-range specifications.

Tecno Camon 30 Premier Specifications

The Tecno Camon 30 Premier 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8200-Ultra SoC paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. Additionally, up to 12GB of unused storage can be utilized as virtual RAM. It also runs Android 14 out of the box. The handset is equipped with 5,000 mAh battery that supports 70W wired fast charging.

The Camon 30 Premier sports a 6.77-inch LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 1,264 x 2,780 pixels, a peak brightness of 1,400 nits, and a 120Hz refresh rate. Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, an IR blaster, and more. The handset also packs dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support.

Tecno Camon 30 Premier Cameras

For optics, the Tecno Camon 30 Premier features a triple-camera setup headlined by a 50 MP Sony IMX890 sensor with OIS and a 1/1.56" size. The main camera is paired with a 50 MP periscope lens with a 70mm focal length and 60x hybrid zoom and a 50 MP ultrawide lens. The periscope lens can also capture macro shots.

The Camon 30 Premier also boasts a dedicated Sony CXD5622GG ISP, which is rated at 4.6 TFLOPS at FP16 16-bit floating point. The camera system also incorporates Tecno's Universal Tone technology, which uses AI to render accurate skin tones.

The phone also brings an AIGC Portrait mode to modify portrait shots and an AI One Click Eraser to remove unwanted objects with a single click. The new ISP also enables full-scene AI noise reduction for HDR videos and 4K Ultra Night Vision video recording. Up front, the Camon 30 Premier 5G opts for a 50 MP selfie camera with Autofocus.

Tecno Camon 30 Premier Availability, Pricing

As of now, Tecno has yet to confirm details about the Camon 30 Premier's pricing. The Tecno Camon 30 series, including the Camon 30 Premier 5G, will make its global debut in Q2, 2024.

To recall, the Tenco Camon 20 Premier 5G price in India starts from Rs 24,999, down from Rs 29,999 during its debut. Given the updates, the Tecno Camon 30 Premier could debut in India's sub-40K smartphone segment.
