TikTok Owner ByteDance Unveils Its First Smartphone: Price, Specs And More

Previously, we have been coming across reports that TikTok owner ByteDance is working on a smartphone along with Smartisan. It was reported that this smartphone could be launched this year itself. Now, the first smartphone from ByteDance dubbed Smartisan Jianguo Pro 3 has been announced.

Well, this is a flagship smartphone that is equipped with the Snapdragon 855+ SoC. The device comes with a quad-camera system at its rear. And, it comes with several interesting TikTok-centric features such as selfie lighting and direct access to the TikTok app with a swipe on the lock screen.

Smartisan Jianguo Pro 3 Price And Availability

The Smartisan Jianguo Pro 3 has been unveiled in three storage configurations - 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM priced at 2899 yuan (approx. Rs. 29,000), 8GB RAM + 256GB ROM priced at 3199 yuan (approx. Rs. 32,000), and 12GB RAM + 256GB ROM priced at 3599 yuan (approx. Rs. 36,000).

While both the 8GB RAM variants have been launched in Black and White colors, the 12GB RAM variant comes in just the greenish Matsutake color option. The device is already up for sale in China along with a discount of 200 yuan (approx. Rs. 2,000) on all variants during the first sale. For now, there is no word regarding the global launch of the Smartisan Jianguo Pro 3.

Smartisan Jianguo Pro 3 Specifications

Smartisan Jianguo Pro 3 bestows a 6.39-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. Under its hood, there is a Snapdragon 855+ SoC teamed up with up to 12GB and up to 256GB storage space. It runs Smartisan OS 7 based on Android but the version remains unknown.

For imaging, the Smartisan Jianguo Pro 3 makes use of a quad-camera module at the rear with a 48MP Sony IMX586 primary sensor with f/1.75 aperture, a 13MP secondary wide-angle lens with a 128-degree field of view, a tertiary 8MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and a fourth 5MP macro lens with the ability to click 2cm macro shots. At the front, it bestows a 20MP selfie camera with the 4-in-1 pixel binning technology.

When it comes to connectivity, the Smartisan Jianguo Pro 3 comes with 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. There is a 4000mAh battery with support for 18W Quick Charge 4+ fast charging tech.

Our Opinion

Given that the Smartisan Jianguo Pro 3, which is the first smartphone from ByteDance is official with high-end specifications, we can expect it to compete against the likes of other flagship smartphones. However, we are yet to see when this device will be released in the global markets and how well it will be perceived by the audience.
