Xiaomi 17 Series India Launch Confirmed, Showcased at Snapdragon Summit Goa

The Xiaomi 17 series recently made its debut in China as the first phones powered by the all-new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. Now, it seems the brand will soon bring the latest flagship phones to India.

At the Snapdragon Summit in Goa, Xiaomi India's Chief Marketing Officer, Anuj Sharma, showcased the newly launched Xiaomi 17, confirming its arrival.

As noted, Xiaomi India's CMO showcased the standard Xiaomi 17 model during the Snapdragon Summit held in Goa, where Qualcomm introduced the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and X2 Elite Series Chips.

Sharma also stated that "At Xiaomi, our mission has always been to deliver flagship experiences that truly enhance the lives of our users in India. Over the years, our partnership with Qualcomm has been an important part of this journey, enabling us to harness the power of Snapdragon platforms to deliver exceptional performance, next-generation imaging, and AI-driven experiences. With the upcoming Xiaomi 17 Series powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform, we are excited to take this collaboration further, pushing the boundaries of what a flagship smartphone can achieve and bringing users a new level of innovation and seamless experience."

The Xiaomi 17 was seen in a blue colour variant, while it's also available in black, white, and pink shades in China. As of now, there is no word regarding the launch timeline. It also remains to be seen whether the brand has any plans to bring the 17 Pro and Pro Max models to the country.

Xiaomi 17 Specifications

The Xiaomi 17 has a 6.3-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2,656x1,220 pixels and supports up to a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. The handset runs Android 16 with the new HyperOS 3.0 skin.

For imaging, it offers a Leica-tuned triple rear camera setup, including a 50MP main camera, a 50MP telephoto lens and a 50MP ultrawide-angle sensor. Upfront, it opts for a 50MP sensor. Moreover, it packs a 7,000mAh battery with 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
