Xiaomi Blackshark gaming smartphone teaser and sketch are out
Xiaomi’s gaming smartphone, which is under development in collaboration with Blackshark is likely to be unveiled on April 13.
Xiaomi is reportedly gearing up to unveil its gaming-centric smartphone on April 13 and this phone is likely to be a direct rival to the Razer Phone. This smartphone is rumored to be in the works along with Blackshark Technologies, which is being funded by Xiaomi. Lately, we came across a couple of leaked photos of the gaming smartphone in question but these were said to be fake by Black Shark CEO Wu Shimin.
Now, a new teaser has been spotted on Weibo via MySmartPrice. This new teaser gives us an idea about the design of the smartphone. Though we do not have a look at the entire design, we can get to see the rounded corners of the smartphone clearly in this latest teaser.
Unlike the Xiaomi smartphones launched till date, the upcoming smartphone will flaunt a BlackShark branding and not the Mi branding. This way, the gaming smartphone will be the first one to be launched under the sub-brand.
In a related report by GizmoChina, the Blackshark gaming smartphone's sketch was revealed on Weibo showing a few design elements. As seen in the image above, the smartphone appears to be in the shape of an X with the top and bottom of the smartphone being more angular than the other smartphones. There appear to be eight sides on its frame and the antenna bands are seen at the top and bottom.
For now, the details about the gaming smartphone are scarce. The little information that is known suggests that the Blackshark smartphone will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC. As it is said to be a direct rival to the Razer Phone, which is a gaming-centric smartphone, there are speculations that the smartphone might have a refresh rate of 120Hz.
The processor is likely believed to be teamed up with 8GB RAM and 256GB of default memory capacity. Similar to the Mi Mix 2S, this one might also come with stereo speakers. From the AnTuTu listing, the device is likely to bestow a FHD+ display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. On the software front, the alleged gaming smartphone could arrive with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.
