Sony Xperia P available for pre-order
Recently, we reported that Sony is prepping to launch the Xperia P smartphone sometime in May. Now, reports claim that the Xperia P will be available in India on May 25th. The handset is available for pre-order from Infibeam.com, the online retailer for a price in India of Rs 25,500.
The Xperia P is a gentle version of the Xperia S. The handset is powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. It has a 4 inch display that is scratch resistant with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. The handset has an 8 MP camera with LED flash and auto focus. The phone is equipped with a 1GHz processor and has an internal storage of 16 GB.
The highlight feature of the handset is its Aluminum unibody design that the Xperia S lacked. The operating system can be upgraded to the Android 4.0 ICS soon. Sony has announced that the Xperia S will receive the ICS update soon.
The handset uses the floating touch display technology that lets the users to scroll through the web pages without touching the display. Users can hover their fingers close to the display and it will recognize the gestures and perform the required action.
Previously, the brand made the Xperia U and Sola available for pre-order from online retailers like Flipkart and Infibeam. The Xperia U was announced along with the Xperia P at the Mobile World Congress 2012 held in Barcelona in late February.
