Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra Leaks; Massive Tablet With Flagship Specs in Tow

Android tablets are seeing a revival, of sorts. With Google's Pixel tablet underway and OnePlus' Pad close to hitting the market, the Android tablet space is feeling revitalized. Now, it appears that Samsung is working on an Ultra version of its upcoming Galaxy Tab S9, as one leakster has revealed some key specifications of the high-end Samsung tablet.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra's Rumored Specifications

Revegnus, a tipster, has leaked some key specifications of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra.

Samsung’s Enormous Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra Leaks

The high-end tablet is expected to include Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2+ chipset, which has not yet been announced at the time of writing.

A Twitter thread suggests that Revegnus' source may have simply misspelt the naming terminology of the chipset. The 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy is widely assumed to be the unreleased Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 as chipsets with the "+" moniker mostly used for overclocked versions of standard counterparts.

The ongoing thread suggests that, like the Galaxy S23 series, Samsung may use the "Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy" chipset, which is an overclocked version of the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy's Cortex-X3 core operates at 3.36GHz rather than the standard 8 Gen 2's 3.20GHz, and the Adreno 740 GPU operates at 719MHz rather than 680MHz.

Moving on, the battery is a 10880mAh cell. Surprisingly, the battery is smaller than the 11220mAh battery found on the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra.

However, because the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy SoC has better battery efficiency than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 used in the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, the upcoming tablet may have a longer battery life than its predecessor.

Other than the chipset and battery, the tipster has not mentioned the RAM, display, or camera configuration.

Based on the specs of the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, we may infer that the future tablet will include a massive Super AMOLED display with a 14.6-inch screen, 120Hz refresh rate, and many RAM configurations such as 8GB, 12GB, and 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM.

The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra had a dual-camera setup, so the upcoming device could have the same setup, albeit with improved optics.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Series Will Have Two More Models

As for the rest of the devices in the Tab S9 lineup, there are two other models: the Galaxy Tab S9 and the Galaxy Tab S9+. The lineup is rumored to launch in the second half of this year.
