Airtel launches Rs. 249 prepaid plan and revises Rs. 349 plan
Airtel has revamped its prepaid tariff plans once again.
Airtel, one of the largest telecom operators in India is constantly upgrading its plans and introducing new ones in order to compete with the other operators such as Reliance Jio. The main focus of the operator appears to be to retain its existing subscribers and reach more new subscribers as well. The company carries the credits for being one of the operators to provide unlimited voice calls without any associated FUP.
Lately, the company introduced the Rs. 499 prepaid plan offering 2GB of data per day for 82 days along with unlimited voice calls without any daily or weekly limit and 100 SMS per day. Within a few days, it looks like Airtel has reportedly come up a new Rs. 249 prepaid plan with similar benefits but for a validity of 28 days.
According to a Twitter user, Airtel offers 2GB of data per day, unlimited voice calls be it local, STD and national roaming and 100 SMS per day for 28 days. Also, the tweet notes that the company has revised the Rs. 349 prepaid plan to offer 3GB of data per day, unlimited calls without FUP and 100 SMS per day for the same validity of 28 days as the Rs. 249 plan. The Rs. 349 plan from Airtel was initially offering 2.5GB of data per day. The other benefits such as 100 SMS per day and unlimited voice calls remain the same as the revised plan.
Eventually, the Rs. 249 and Rs. 349 prepaid plans from Airtel offer 56GB and 84GB of data respectively on the whole for a period of 28 days. The Airtel prepaid users can check the official website or the MyAirtel app in order to know if their number is eligible for the plan. Notably, Airtel is coming up with these plans to compete with similarly priced tariff plans in offer by Reliance Jio.
In addition to the prepaid plans, Airtel relaunched the Rs. 649 postpaid plan to offer unlimited voice calls and 50GB of data per month with the data rollover facility. Notably, this facility will let subscribers use the remaining data of the billing cycle in the next month by carrying it forward.
