Jio Removes Rs. 49 JioPhone Recharge Plan, Base Plan Debuts At Rs. 75
The telecom industry in India is facing a lot of changes of late, thanks to the shift brought in by Reliance Jio. Recently, there was a prepaid tariff price hike and all the leading telcos such as Jio, Airtel and Vodafone revised their portfolio.
Besides increasing the price of their tariff plans, Airtel and Vodafone also brought the FUP on voice call. Due to the backlash from subscribers, the voice calling limit was removed from the new plans. At this point in time, Jio has revised its prepaid plans. Well, the telco has removed the base recharge of Rs. 49 and its recharges now start from Rs. 75 for JioPhone users.
Rs. 49 JioPhone Base Plan Removed
Well, Reliance Jio has scrapped the base recharge plan priced at Rs. 49 for JioPhone users from its tariff plan portfolio. Notably, this plan offered 1GB of 4G data, 50 SMS and unlimited calls from Jio to Jio for a validity period of 28 days. Now, this plan has been removed both from the official Jio website and the MyJio app.
Having removed the Rs. 49 prepaid plan, the telco now offers prepaid plans starting from Rs. 75 for JioPhone users. So, users of the 4G-enabled feature phone have to recharge for a minimum of Rs. 75 to continue using the service. Notably, this change comes soon after the launch of the revised prepaid plans from Jio.
JioPhone Rs. 75 Recharge
Talking about Rs. 75 JioPhone prepaid recharge plan, it is an All-in-One plan offering 500 minutes of free voice calls to non-Jio numbers, unlimited voice calls within the Jio network, 500MB of data per day and 50 SMS for a period of 28 days.
The other All-in-One recharge packs meant for JioPhone users are the Rs. 125 plan, Rs. 155 plan, and Rs. 185 plan. All these plans come bundled with free voice calls to non-Jio numbers but the number of minutes varies from one plan to another.
Apart from the All-in-One plans for JioPhone users, there are regular recharge plans to starting from Rs. 99 for a period of 28 days. The portfolio goes up to Rs. 594 offering up to 84 days of validity. However, the downside of these regular plans is that there will be no bundled IUC minutes.
