Fossil has launched a new range of hybrid smartwatches. The new Fossil hybrid smartwatches combine the physical watch hands with a circular low-power, always-on display. The Fossil HR smartwatches feature a monochromatic display that showcases the information generally found on smartwatches like app notifications, activity tracking, weather data, and more.

Before the launch of the Fossil hybrid smartwatch, there were speculations that Google was paying Fossil $40 million for the technology. However, Fossil confirmed that the new range of hybrid smartwatch is unrelated to the Google deal. " There is no relation between the IP Fossil sold to Google at the beginning of the year and the launch of the Fossil Hybrid HR," Google told The Verge.

The Fossil hybrid smartwatch is packed with a 55 mAh battery. Fossil claims that the battery can be charged to a complete 100 percent in an hour and the hybrid smartwatch packs a battery life to last up to two weeks. The smartwatch comes with the usual features found on smartwatches like displaying app notifications, activity trackers like the number of steps walked in a day, heart rate, weather updates, and more.

Fossil Hybrid Smartwatch Price

The new Fossil hybrid smartwatch is the monochromatic display. However, one of the drawbacks of the Fossil HR smartwatch range is the lack of GPS and Google Pay support. The Fossil HR smartwatch range, just like the previous Fossil Carlyle Gen 5, runs Wear OS.

The Fossil smartwatches are a popular global brand that comes in a premium range. The new Fossil hybrid smartwatch starts from $195, which is approximately Rs. 13,900 for the leather strap smartwatches. The stainless steel strapped hybrid smartwatch (for women) is priced at $215, roughly Rs. 15,300. The Fossil HR smartwatch range is available starting today.
