Xiaomi Mi Band Notification Issue On Android 10 Fixed
Xiaomi Mi Band was facing compatibility issues with the recently unveiled Android 10. Google unveiled the Android 10 with several new features; however, the latest version of Android faces certain stability issues. Specifically to the Xiaomi Mi Band, users reported issues related to vibration and notifications on their fitness tracker.
Xiaomi Mi Band Notifications Issue
The Xiaomi Mi Band users reported there weren't receiving notifications from various messaging apps including WhatsApp, WeChat, and even SMS. On checking the vibration motor, it was found to be functioning fine. At this point, both Google and Xiaomi went into a blame game and neither made efforts to fix the issue.
The Xiaomi Mi Band notifications issue escalated and finally, Xiaomi has taken the matter into its hands. The Chinese gadgets maker has issued a solution to resolve the endless complaints filing in. Xiaomi says the users need to make specific changes to the MIUI 11 devices to fix the notifications issue with Android 10.
To fix the Mi Band issue, users need to assign the notifications reminder permissions to the Xiaomi Sports app in MIUI 11. Once the MIUI 11 Settings is opened on the smartphone, users need to type 'notifications' in the search bar. Here, users need to select the 'Notifications Usage Rights' > 'Mi Sports App'. Xiaomi Mi Band users need to grant notification permission to the Xiaomi Sports App in Android 10.
Xiaomi Mi Band
The notifications issue was spotted mainly on Xiaomi Mi Band 3 and Mi Band 4 owners. The Xiaomi Mi Band pack the usual features found on fitness trackers like heart rate, steps, sleep tracking, and more. The recently launched Xiaomi Mi Band 4 packs a 135mAh battery that is believed to stay up to 20 days.
The Xiaomi Mi Band is compatible with both iOS and Android devices. Coming particularly to the notifications, the Mi Band notify the user about calls, text messages on various messaging platforms, and reminders including alarms. The Android 10 notifications issue should hopefully be settled soon with the new set of steps Xiaomi has announced.
