Urban Pro M Review: best budget Bluetooth smartwatch?

Smartwatches have become indispensable gadgets for tech enthusiasts. The Urban Pro M is an affordable smartwatch that costs ₹1,999, and it not only tracks daily health goals but also keeps you connected through its Bluetooth calling capability. However, is it truly worth your money? Let's find out.

Urban Pro M: Design

The Urban Pro M's metal body is strong and durable, which is ideal for someone like me who is always on the go. But it was the 3D curved edges that truly surprised me. The 3D curved edges made using the watch a breeze. While I'm not a fan of athletic designs, the infinity loop strap not only added to the watch's athletic vibe but also felt comfortable on my wrist.

Urban Pro M: Comfort & Durability

I've been wearing the URBAN Pro M for about a week now. After wearing the watch for extended periods, I did notice sweat under it. However, the smartwatch has an IP67 certification, which indicates it is waterproof and sweatproof. So I don't have to be concerned about sweat damaging the smartwatch. The Pro M was comfortable overall, but in my case, not so much for extended usage since it's on the bulkier side, both by looks and weight.

Urban Pro M: Display

The Urban Pro M features a massive 1.91-inch display with similarly massive bezels.
The bezels are particularly visible since the thickness of the bezel on the display's chin is unevenly constructed in comparison to the sides and top of the display.
However, the display is sufficiently bright for both inside and outdoor use. The color output and crispness are decent.

Urban Pro M: Speaker Test

The smartwatch's speaker is surprisingly loud. Although the sound is concentrated on the mid and high frequencies, there is enough bass. I listened to Travis Scott's songs and discovered that it covers the low end, but the snare was much louder than the kick drums. Overall, the sound is louder and has a wider frequency range than the Fastrack Revoltt FS1. However, it is a tad quieter than the Gizmore Vogue, which I noticed while listening to songs. While calling, it was suitable for an indoor environment, but outdoors the output was a little low.

Urban Pro M: Mic Test (Call Quality)

The mic is crisp and clear on the receiver's end. I had put my smartphone (iQOO Z7) to charge and meanwhile, I received a couple of calls through the Urban Pro M, and the calling experience was seamless. I recommend speaking from a distance of approximately 6 inches (15cm) or less for the best experience.

Urban Pro M: Touch Response

The Urban Pro M has outstanding touch responsiveness. The watch's dynamic rotating crown allows a seamless browsing experience. The Pro M has a quick and sensitive touch screen that detects inputs precisely. Even when using a calculator on its screen, the smartwatch could detect touch accurately.

Urban Pro M: Smartphone App; Da Fit

The app connectivity is via Da Fit, which is available for both Android & iOS. The layout of the app is clean and easy to understand. It allows the modification of the watch faces, examines health statistics, workout records, watch settings, and has a dedicated icon to check/update the latest firmware.

Urban Pro M: Health Monitoring

When I attempted to measure my heart rate without wearing the smartwatch, it displayed a reminder to do so. I appreciate how it detects whether or not a person is wearing the smartwatch. However, the reminder text template could be improved. Health tracking has always been tricky to nail, especially on a budget smartwatch. The Urban Pro M provides a slew of health monitoring functions, but aside from the pedometer, the majority of the sensors were subpar. To give you an idea, the heart rate sensor was off by +-8BPM.

Urban Pro M: Battery Life

With normal usage, I could go four days without charging the watch. When I used the Bluetooth calling option though, the battery life dropped to about a day and a half. The charging duration was comparable to the competition, taking around 1 hour and 55 minutes to charge completely.

Verdict

In my opinion, the Urban Pro M is a decent smartwatch for those on a tight budget. Da Fit App is well-designed, connects to Google Fit, and has a simple and easy-to-use UI. Also, the touch response is quick and accurate. At this price range, the Bluetooth calling capability is an incredible add-on, and the speaker and mic quality are adequate. However, a few users may be underwhelmed by the chunkiness and restricted third-party software connectivity. If you're one of them, the Gizmore Vogue and the Fastrack Revoltt FS1 are two alternatives worth exploring.
