BenQ Debuts TK705i and TK705STi in India With 4K and Google TV

BenQ has launched two new 4K home projectors in India, the TK705i and TK705STi. Both models are aimed at people who want a large-screen experience at home without having to set up a dedicated theatre room.

Built for Simple Setup

The TK705i and TK705STi focus on making installation less complicated. They handle tasks like autofocus, keystone correction, screen fit, and obstacle avoidance on their own, so the projector adjusts itself within a few seconds.

The regular TK705i includes a motorised 1.0–1.3x optical zoom for placement flexibility. The TK705STi is the more compact short-throw option, projecting a 100-inch screen from about 1.8 metres. That makes it better suited for smaller rooms.

Picture Quality and Brightness

Both models support true 4K UHD output and come with 3,000 ANSI lumens brightness. BenQ says HDR-PRO and CinematicColor are used to improve accuracy and contrast. The projectors target 98 percent Rec.709 colour coverage, which is common for home entertainment setups in this segment.

Google TV Comes Preloaded

A notable change this generation is the addition of Google TV. Because of that, you don’t need any external streaming stick to access apps, including the official Netflix app. There’s also support for Google Assistant voice controls and BenQ’s SmartRemote app for people who prefer using their phone as a remote.

Gaming Features for Low-Lag Play

Gamers get a few upgrades as well. The TK705i and TK705STi offer around 5ms input lag at 4K/60Hz, along with dedicated picture modes tuned for FPS and RPG gameplay. HDMI 2.1 with eARC and Auto Low Latency Mode helps them work smoothly with consoles like PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and handhelds like the Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck.

Audio and Connectivity

The built-in audio setup includes dual 8W speakers with Dolby Audio support. It won’t replace a full speaker system, but it should be fine for casual viewing. Connectivity includes USB-C with 30W PD, which gives users more flexibility with laptops or mobile devices.
